Derek has been a lifelong admirer of cinema, music, science fiction and the occult.
Inspired by classics such as Jurassic Park and Star Wars, Derek started taking photos of his toys in "battle scenes" with a disposable camera. The rest is history.
His work has been recognised by industry leading brands including Hasbro, NECA, Playstation Santa Monica Studios, and Diamond Select Toys as well as the gaming icon himself: Hideo Kojima.
Ultimately as a photographer he seeks to create striking imagery that inspires thoughtful reflection by highlighting aspects of our natural world and how we integrate ourselves into that ecosystem as humans.
Derek has professional experience in product and event photography including online sales, motorsports and live music, and has recently branched out into studio lighting design and is eager to work with creative individuals with a vision for excellence.
